What is Giardiasis?
A gastrointestinal infection caused by a microscopic parasite called Giardia Lamblia.

How is Giardiasis Contracted?
The most common means of infection is from contaminated drinking water.

Eden Equipment Company has developed a filter cartridge specifically designed to remove Giardia from water. This filter cartridge was tested by the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Fort Collins, Colorado for efficiency against Giardia cysts. The results were excellent. The cartridges tested at 100% removal of Giardia cysts. (US Water News, April, 1991)

Actual stated conclusion of the test result were: The Eden Excel® pleated filter in the Eden Excel® housing is excellent for removal of Giardia cysts. The Eden Excel® filter housing and filter cartridges used for this test performed quite well. Even after 1,000 gallons, Dp filter pressure had only increased by 5 psi. Efficacy table of data obtained for each trial show 100% removal of Giardia cysts.

Eden Excel® Giardia Cartridges have a long working life with little pressure drop giving the user an economical and efficient alternative to more costly and potentially less effective Giardia cartridges.
